Internship Project for Macmillan Education Caribbean

In 2025, Macmillan Education Caribbean held their Language Tree: New Branches Poetry Competition, encouraging schoolchildren in the Caribbean to develop and showcase their creative writing skills. Open to pupils in primary and lower secondary, and their teachers, entrants were asked to write and submit a poem based on one of six themes. They had the chance to be published in a special edition poetry anthology.

Before and during the competition, I created graphics for, and scheduled, social media posts to spread awareness of the competition, including a video featuring several of my colleagues encouraging viewers to enter. After the competition, I came up with the idea to film the winners of the competition reading their poems, further showcasing the talent of Caribbean schoolchildren. These videos were uploaded to social media, spread out over the course of a few weeks, and we're tailored for both portrait and landscape formats. They are also featured in a singular video celebrating all the winners together (shown above). I was in charge of editing these videos, producing their motion graphics and posting them to social media in a consistent schedule.

Videos were released in landscape format for X/Twitter & LinkedIn, and in portrait format for Instagram & YouTube Shorts.
