The Reverend Jackie Fountain was inducted as vicar of St Catherine's of Siena Church on 28th November 2023. To ensure that this momentous occasion could be seen by as many people from across the local community as possible, it was decided that the service would be captured across multiple cameras, livestreamed to YouTube, and relayed to two screens in overflow seating. I helped to produce this livestream, mainly by vision mixing and operating a PTZ camera.

There were 4 camera feeds: three static cameras and a pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) camera. These camera feeds were sent via HDMI cables to the Blackmagic ATEM Mini Extreme (lower right in photos), a visual mixing desk device with built-in livestreaming capabilities. The PTZ camera was controlled with the joystick on its control unit (lower left in photos). The ATEM Mini Extreme outputted three HDMI signals, one as a multi-view (shown on the monitor in photos) and two as live previews, one sent to another monitor nearby it, and the other sent around the building, duplicated and displayed on the two large screens in overflow seating.
This was easily the most technologically complex production that I and the church have undertaken so far. However, it was an exciting experience for me to be a part of. I'm very grateful to Paul Fountain and St Nicolas Church Newbury for loaning the equipment and giving me this opportunity.
